The event was attended by SFI Project Manager Volker Sasse, Head of Forestry at Unique land use GmbH Bernd Wippel, Administrative Backstop and Project Coordinator Katja Obst, and international project experts Heino Polei and Axel Weinreich, Viktor Melnychenko, Director General of the State Agency of Ukraine for Forestry, Vitaliy Storozhuk, National Project Coordinator, Oleksandr Shevchuk, Head of the Central Research and Development Centre, Andriy Shamrai, Deputy Head of the Central Research and Development Centre, and Halyna Semytska, Project Assistant.
The agenda included the following issues:
- Objectives and framework conditions of the SFI project;
- Presentation of the key results of the conceptual study:
- Description of required materials and input data for rs-NFI;
- Requirements for site selection – 2023;
- Methodology of rs-NFI data processing and validation;
- Status quo of the concept implementation:
- Forestry activities, national forest inventory, etc;
- Software/hardware for data collection;
- Progress in field data collection;
- Draft work plan of national experts for 2023.
